I have a bit of Native American in my background - Cherokee and Sioux. And among those cultures, the honoring of ancestors is very important. There are things I am learning about to do just that. The titles of my letters will reflect the day and the name of the moon they are published on, in my ancestors' honor. Here are the names of the moons in relation to the months we are used to using :
Jan - Snow Moon
Feb - Hunger Moon
Mar - Crow Moon
April - Grass Moon
May - Planting Moon
June - Rose Moon
July - Heat Moon
Aug - Thunder Moon
Sept - Hunting Moon
Oct - Falling Leaf Moon
Nov - Beaver Moon
Dec - Long Night Moon
